Hey guys we wanted to share a new method of giving with you today. Which is a PayPal fundraiser, this is something new that we’ve never tried before. We are fundraising for a few different things that you can read about on the PayPal page. We want to exhaust every option possible when it comes to raising support and helping the members of our community.

Thank you with peace & love ,

PBS?

As I was sitting in prayer prior to writing this post for some reason the PBS bumper came to mind and now I know why. If you’ve never heard of the PBS bumper it goes like this, “This program was made possible by contributions to your PBS station from viewers like you. Thank you”. This would be said after nearly every show. We have come to understand what it is like to say this and mean it. All of this to say, without supporters, our ministry wouldn’t be possible. If you have contributed so much as a dollar to our ministry we want you to know that we are incredibly thankful for you.

Your donations not only mean so much to us, but to the people we serve here in this village. With your help, we can feed starving families, clothe children and provide much-needed supplies to our church.

We have major goals that we are working towards as a church plant. One of those is to be financed as a church. Currently we have roughly $90-$190 in monthly fundraising, our goal is much higher than this. The most helpful situation is to have reoccurring support each month. You can partner with us by donating whatever you see fit and whatever best suits your budget. Whether that be $5,$50,$100, etc. each amount will greatly impact  the longevity. Our ministry would be greatly impacted!

Would you be able to help us take one step closer to this goal? If so, please click the link down below & donate to our ministry! You can either make a one-time donation or make a recurring gift.

Get to Know us!

Hello guys! We hope you’re all doing well. I know we haven’t spoken in a while and that seems to be a recurring theme but nonetheless, allow us to catch up. For those of you we haven’t met yet, we are the Borri’s. My name is Sara and my husband’s name is Sokol. We recently got married in September of 2020! We have been doing ministry full time together since I arrived in September and it has been incredible!

When we aren’t serving in our church you can find us at the soccer fields! Sokol loves to play and has created a team here in Sheqeras with teens from our church! I’m usually there recording or on the sidelines cheering them on.

I have recently gotten into baking and love having the girls from our church over to bake! We have had quite a tough time with fundraising, so on top of the work that I do in the village I have also started working at our church’s nursing home as an activities director, in order provide for our thriving ministry. We are living by faith that God will continue to provide.

Self-Funded

Hey, y’all! Hope everyone is happy and healthy. I wanted to write this blog post and discuss something that I do not like to talk about; money. Asking for money is a major place of discomfort for me. I have been working since the seventh grade so I could be financially free. I did not like asking my mom for money so I worked for it myself.

I have always been uncomfortable asking others for things or money. When it comes to fundraising I realize that the support is for my husband and I to be able to live but, it is so much more than that. It allows us to have a home that is also a second home for our staff; a haven for them to gather in fellowship and to further their understanding of God’s word.

Having funds allows us to be able to better take care of our congregation in Sheqeras. With more support, we will be able to meet the needs of our people and to provide a variety of things for our ministries and projects. As of now, I’m currently self-funded and I’m using my savings for this mission trip. I know that this will only take us so far. Especially since I wasn’t able to make very much this year due to losing my job to covid for 4 months. If you have any questions feel free to ask me. Or if you want to learn more about anything that we are doing please message me. I will also be making youtube videos this week so you guys can better see what we are doing rather than me simply telling you.

I’m genuinely thankful for my awesome prayer warriors. You are so important.

A few of our prayer requests are …

+That we would continue home visits. So far I’ve been able to go on two this week! It’s truly been an amazing experience and I’ve gotten to make some amazing connections.

+That our new English class would go well! We are starting them next week.

+ That we would be able to get a heating stove for our house. It is extremely cold in Sheqeras and our apartment does not have one.

ARRIVAL !

On September 7th I arrived in Albania! I knew that I was going to travel to Albania but, I wasn’t aware of when that would be. Due to COVID many of my original dates had to be pushed or moved around. Initially I was going to be coming to Albania in July; that date came and went. My fiance and I also decided that it would be best to push back our original wedding date. Our original date was the 8th of August and ended up moving it to the 12th of September. I am beyond happy with that decision. It allowed me to have more time to sell my belongings as well as pack and plan better! I was able to snag an amazing deal on plane ticket only $581 for a one way ticket to Albania which is a steal!!!! Beyond thankful for google flights PRAISE GOD! The price of the plane ticket was a great deal of anxiety for me due to that fact that I am self funded and flights typically haven’t fallen to their cheapest prices quite yet. Most one way flights are $1,100 and up.Although my extra luggages ended up costing me nearly as much ): All in all it was a pretty easy trip compared to the other ones that I’ve had. This one was only about 16 hours which is pretty great. I thought that it was going to be much harder to keep my mask on the entire time but it truly was not. On the long flights I got three seats to myself and that was an amazing blessing.

I truly cannot believe that I hadn’t been to Albania in a year! I missed the people and the country dearly. My spirit is so much happier here I know that this is the place that God wants Sokol (my fiance) and I to be serving in. I am so ecstatic to be here and so ready to get to work. I am apart of /working in nearly everything going on in the church minus our boys bible study and our young adults bible study. I will be joining our different staff members in our kids group, girls bible study and our women’s bible study. I am praying that I can create a teen girls bible study that meets regularly as well.

Prayer Requests

Only one comes to mind currently…

+That our staff remains healthy through these tough times.

Thank you.

Back at it again.

I’m really bad at keeping up with these posts. Like I’ve been intending to make a blog post since I got back from Albania. That was around mid- September, now we are in the middle of April and going through a global pandemic; oh how the times have changed. I’m excited to get back into consistent posting and sharing my journey with anyone who’s interested and willing to listen. Since I’m currently not in the missions field and living “regular life” here in Michigan; I decided that is what I will be sharing with everyone. What books I’m reading, how my bible studies have been going and my joy in the waiting period between now and getting back to Albania. I ideally wanted to be back there by early July. Now I’m not sure when I’ll be back there but thats okay. I guess it will just give me more time to prepare for what’s to come.

Don’t forget to be the light in all that you do.

Sincerely, Sara.
